AI-suggested
A patch is available and users should update affected systems to Linux kernel version 5.15.0-1100.102 or later. After applying the update, a system reboot is required to activate the fixes. Due to an ABI change, third-party kernel modules must be recompiled and reinstalled. Following the vendor's update instructions will mitigate these vulnerabilities.
Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities were discovered in the Linux kernel for Intel IoT Real-time platforms, affecting cryptographic operations, Ethernet bonding, packet sockets, and the TLS protocol. Notably, the algif_aead module improperly handled in-place cryptographic operations, allowing local attackers to escalate privileges or potentially escape containers. These issues could allow attackers to compromise affected systems. A patch is available that addresses these flaws, and users should update to the fixed kernel versions and reboot to apply the changes.
