AI-suggested

A patch is available and should be applied by updating to linux-realtime-6.17.0-1008.9~24.04.1 as provided by the Ubuntu security notice USN-8094-3. After updating, a system reboot is required to apply all changes. Due to an ABI change, third-party kernel modules must be recompiled and reinstalled. Follow the vendor's update instructions carefully to ensure full remediation.

Description

Multiple security vulnerabilities were discovered in the linux-realtime-6.17 kernel, including issues in the AppArmor Linux kernel Security Module (LSM) that could allow an unprivileged local attacker to manipulate AppArmor profiles, leading to denial of service, exposure of kernel memory, local privilege escalation, or container escape. Additionally, some AMD Zen 5 processors with RDSEED instruction support improperly handle entropy, potentially allowing attackers to influence random values, causing confidentiality and integrity loss. Numerous other kernel subsystems and drivers were also affected by various security flaws.
