Description
The npm package 'db-dx-connector' is a malicious package impersonating the legitimate 'dx-db-connector' package by inverting its name. It contains a backdoor method 'queryDBConnect' that fetches and executes arbitrary JavaScript code from an attacker-controlled remote URL at runtime. This allows remote code execution within any Node.js process that calls this method. The malicious behavior is obfuscated using base64 encoding and silent error handling. Versions 1.0.0 through 1.0.3 are affected.
