A fix is available in Netpbm versions 10.86.51, 11.02.30, and 11.15.08 and later. Users should upgrade to these or later versions to remediate the vulnerability. No other mitigation guidance is provided or required.

Description

Netpbm versions before 10.86.51, 11.x before 11.02.30, and 11.03 before 11.15.08 contain an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the tgatoppm converter. This flaw arises from unchecked pixel values used as color map indexes, allowing crafted Targa files with pixel values exceeding color map bounds to cause a crash or leak adjacent memory.
