AI-suggested

Upgrade pypdf to version 6.21.3 or later, where this issue is fixed. No other mitigation is indicated or required.

Description

pypdf versions prior to 6.21.3 have a vulnerability where accessing the page count of a crafted encrypted PDF can cause excessive time and memory consumption. This occurs because the page count retrieval trusts an attacker-controlled forged /Count value in the page tree without validation. The issue is fixed in version 6.21.3.
