Upgrade pypdf to version 6.21.4 or later, where this excessive memory consumption vulnerability has been fixed. No other mitigation is required as the issue is resolved in the official patch.
Description
pypdf versions prior to 6.21.4 have a vulnerability where parsing a crafted PDF page tree with many shared resources can cause excessive memory consumption. This occurs because page-tree flattening copies page dictionary and inherited resource entries without limiting the total document-wide entries, leading to disproportionate memory allocations. The issue is fixed in version 6.21.4.
