AI-suggested

Red Hat has released an official security update for Booth in Red Hat Enterprise Linux High Availability 8.4 to fix this vulnerability. Users should apply the update as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (RHSA-2024:3657) to remediate the issue. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the vendor-provided patch.

Description

A vulnerability in the Booth cluster ticket manager component of Red Hat Enterprise Linux High Availability 8.4 allows a specially crafted hash to cause the Booth server to accept an invalid HMAC. Booth is used to manage authorization tickets for resources in multi-site high availability clusters, ensuring resources run at only one granted site at a time. This flaw could undermine the integrity of the authorization mechanism.
