Red Hat has released an update for Booth in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2 Extended Update Support that addresses this vulnerability. Users should apply the update as detailed in the Red Hat advisory RHSA-2024:3660 and the referenced article https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. No alternative mitigations are specified; applying the official patch is required.
Description
A security vulnerability in the Booth cluster ticket manager component of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2 Extended Update Support allows a specially crafted hash to cause the Booth server to accept an invalid HMAC. Booth is used to manage authorization tickets in high availability clusters spanning multiple sites, ensuring resources run at only one site at a time.
