What to do

AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated compat-openssl11 packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2 Update Services for SAP Solutions that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update as described in Red Hat advisory RHSA-2026:39012 and the referenced article https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258 to remediate the issues. No additional mitigation actions are specified by the vendor.

Description

Two security vulnerabilities have been identified in the compat-openssl11 package used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2 Update Services for SAP Solutions. The first is a denial of service caused by a NULL pointer dereference in CMS EnvelopedData processing (CVE-2026-28390). The second is a heap use-after-free vulnerability in the OpenSSL PKCS7_verify() function (CVE-2026-45447). These issues affect the OpenSSL 1.1.1 libraries provided for compatibility with previous releases. Red Hat has issued a security advisory and released updated packages to address these vulnerabilities.
