What to do

AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated compat-openssl11 packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 and related variants that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update as described in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate these issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patches.

Description

Red Hat has issued a security advisory for the compat-openssl11 package, addressing two vulnerabilities in the OpenSSL 1.1.1 libraries. The first vulnerability (CVE-2026-28390) is a denial of service caused by a NULL pointer dereference during CMS EnvelopedData processing. The second (CVE-2026-45447) is a heap use-after-free issue in the PKCS7_verify() function. These vulnerabilities affect Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 Update Services for SAP Solutions and related variants. Red Hat has released updated packages to fix these issues.
