Users should apply the security update as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (RHSA-2026:39008) and the referenced article https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258 to remediate these issues. No additional mitigation steps are specified or required beyond applying the official patch.

Description

Two buffer overflow vulnerabilities have been identified in the freeipmi packages used for IPMI remote console and system management. These include a buffer overflow on response messages via ipmi-oem (CVE-2026-33554) and a denial of service via buffer overflow in the ipmi-oem client (CVE-2026-50031). Red Hat has released security updates addressing these issues in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4 Update Services for SAP Solutions.
