What to do
AI-suggested
Red Hat has released updated git-lfs packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 Extended Life Cycle Long Life and AUS variants that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the official Red Hat security update RHSA-2026:95234 promptly to remediate these issues. Detailed update instructions are available at https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. No additional mitigations are specified beyond applying the vendor-provided patches.
Description
Red Hat has issued a security advisory for git-lfs addressing multiple vulnerabilities primarily in the Go programming language components used by git-lfs. These include issues such as sensitive headers being sent after cross-domain redirects, timing side channels, incorrect TLS certificate validation, denial of service via various vectors, privilege escalation through Punycode label processing, and man-in-the-middle attacks via untrusted intermediate certificates. The advisory covers a broad range of CVEs affecting cryptographic libraries, HTTP handling, and system calls. The update is rated as important by Red Hat Product Security.
