Red Hat has released updated httpd packages that address these vulnerabilities. Users of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 Extended Life Cycle and related variants should apply the security update RHSA-2026:36846 promptly. Detailed instructions for applying the update are available at https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patches.
Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified and fixed in the Apache HTTP Server (httpd) 2.4 packages provided by Red Hat. These include denial of service (DoS) attacks via HTTP/2 memory increase and compression bomb, heap-based buffer over-reads and buffer overflow in mod_proxy_ajp, a NULL pointer dereference causing process crashes in mod_authn_socache, and arbitrary code execution via a heap-based buffer overflow in mod_proxy_ajp. Red Hat has issued an important security update addressing these issues for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 variants.
