Red Hat has released updated libarchive packages (version 3.5.3-2.el9_0.4) that address these vulnerabilities. Users of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.0 Update Services for SAP Solutions should apply these security updates promptly. Detailed update instructions are available at https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. No additional mitigation steps are specified beyond applying the official patches.
Description
Two security vulnerabilities have been identified in the libarchive library used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.0 Update Services for SAP Solutions. The first is an information disclosure issue caused by a heap out-of-bounds read during RAR archive processing (CVE-2026-4424). The second is an arbitrary code execution vulnerability due to an integer overflow in ISO9660 image processing (CVE-2026-5121). Red Hat has released updates addressing these issues in libarchive version 3.5.3-2.el9_0.4. Users of affected Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.0 variants should apply the updates to mitigate these vulnerabilities.
