AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated libarchive packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the official Red Hat security update RHSA-2026:69553 to remediate these issues. Detailed update instructions are available from Red Hat's advisory and article linked in the vendor advisory.

Description

Two security vulnerabilities have been identified in the libarchive library used by Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10. These include a heap overflow out-of-bounds read when parsing tar archives with PAX extended headers (CVE-2026-15028) and a signed integer overflow in the ZIP header writing function (CVE-2026-16517). Red Hat has released updates addressing these issues with a low security impact rating.
