Red Hat has released updated PostgreSQL packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extended Lifecycle Support to address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply these official updates promptly following Red Hat's guidance at https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the provided patches.
Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified in PostgreSQL as used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extended Lifecycle Support. These include a buffer overflow in libpq allowing server superuser to overwrite client stack memory, an arbitrary code execution flaw in the 'refint' module, a credential recovery issue via a covert timing channel in MD5 password comparison, and an integer overflow causing an undersized allocation and out-of-bounds write. Red Hat has issued an important security advisory with updates to address these issues.
