AI-suggested
Red Hat has released updated libxml2 packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extended Lifecycle Support that address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the security update as described in the Red Hat advisory (RHSA-2025:2673) and the referenced article (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate these issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patches.
Description
Two security vulnerabilities have been identified in the libxml2 library used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extended Lifecycle Support. These include a use-after-free vulnerability (CVE-2024-56171) and a stack-based buffer overflow (CVE-2025-24928). Red Hat has issued an important security advisory with updates addressing these issues. The vulnerabilities affect multiple architectures of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 Extended Lifecycle Support. The advisory provides updated packages to remediate these flaws.
