AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated packages for MUNGE (version 0.5.15-10.el10_0.1) that fix the buffer overflow vulnerability. Users of affected Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.0 Extended Update Support and related products should apply these updates promptly. For detailed update instructions, refer to Red Hat's advisory and article at https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258. No other mitigation or workaround is indicated.

Description

A buffer overflow vulnerability in MUNGE's message unpacking allows key leakage and credential forgery. MUNGE is an authentication service used in HPC cluster environments to authenticate UIDs and GIDs across hosts sharing a cryptographic key. This flaw could enable attackers to forge credentials within the security realm. Red Hat has issued an important security update addressing this issue for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10.0 Extended Update Support and related products.
