AI-suggested

Red Hat has released OpenShift Container Platform 4.16.64 with fixes for this vulnerability. Additionally, review and restrict Kubernetes cluster roles that allow pod port forwarding (create), pod exec (create), pod attach (create), and node proxy (get/create) to trusted and authorized users only. Modifying RBAC policies should be done carefully and tested to avoid disrupting legitimate application functionality.

Description

A denial of service vulnerability (CVE-2026-35469) exists in the SPDY streaming code used by Kubelet, CRI-O, and kube-apiserver components of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 4.16. An attacker with specific elevated cluster roles related to pod port forwarding, execution, attachment, or node proxying can exploit this flaw to cause these components to become unresponsive. Red Hat has released OpenShift Container Platform 4.16.64 with fixes addressing this issue. Users are advised to upgrade to the updated packages and images. Additionally, restricting the assignment of certain Kubernetes cluster roles can mitigate the risk.
