Description
CVE-2026-41240 is a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in DOMPurify, a DOM-only sanitizer used in Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization v4.14 images. The flaw arises from inconsistent handling of forbidden tags and attributes when function-based tag additions are used, allowing malicious HTML, MathML, or SVG elements to bypass sanitization and execute arbitrary code in the user's browser. Exploitation requires a specialized configuration with dynamic callback functions and user interaction, limiting the attack surface. Red Hat rates this vulnerability as Moderate and currently has no effective mitigation that meets their criteria.
