Red Hat recommends reviewing and restricting the assignment of Kubernetes cluster roles pods/portforward (create), pods/exec (create), pods/attach (create), and nodes/proxy (get/create) to trusted and authorized users or service accounts only. Modifying RBAC policies should be done carefully as it may affect application functionality.
Description
CVE-2026-35469 is a denial of service vulnerability in the SPDY streaming code used by Kubelet, CRI-O, and kube-apiserver components of Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization v4.15. An attacker with specific elevated Kubernetes cluster roles related to pod port forwarding, execution, attachment, or node proxying could exploit this flaw to cause these components to become unresponsive. The vulnerability affects OpenShift Container Platform environments where these permissions are granted. Mitigation involves restricting these cluster roles to trusted users only.
