What to do
AI-suggested
Red Hat has released an update for the python-rpds-py RPMs in Red Hat Hardened Images that addresses this vulnerability. Users should apply this update as per Red Hat's guidance available at https://images.redhat.com/. No additional mitigations are specified or required beyond applying the official fix.
Description
A vulnerability in the urllib3 Python HTTP client library allows remote attackers to cause excessive resource consumption on the client side. This occurs due to improper handling of HTTP response decompression, leading to high CPU usage and large memory allocation, potentially resulting in a denial of service (DoS). Red Hat has issued an update for Red Hat Hardened Images RPMs to address this issue.
