AI-suggested
Red Hat has released updated packages for prometheus3.13 (version 3.13.5-0.3.hum1) that fix this vulnerability. Users should apply these updates as provided by Red Hat Hardened Images RPMs to remediate the issue. No additional mitigations are specified or required beyond applying the official update. Since this is a disclosed and patched vulnerability, deploying the updated packages fully addresses the risk.
Description
A vulnerability in the follow-redirects library used in Red Hat Hardened Images RPMs (prometheus3.13) allows sensitive HTTP headers to be improperly forwarded during cross-origin redirects. This occurs because the sensitiveHeaders configuration is not correctly validated across different execution contexts, leading to potential disclosure of confidential authentication credentials to malicious redirect targets. Exploitation requires inducing HTTP requests to attacker-controlled hosts with specific configurations. The issue is rated as moderate severity and does not allow code execution or broader system compromise.
