Red Hat has released security updates for webkit2gtk3 in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4 to address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the official patches as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate these issues. No alternative mitigations or workarounds are specified in the advisory.
Description
Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified in WebKitGTK, the GTK port of the WebKit rendering engine, affecting Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4. These include arbitrary JavaScript execution in PDF.js, process crashes, memory corruption, sandbox escape, sensitive data leakage, clipboard hijacking, and disclosure of process memory. The vulnerabilities arise from maliciously crafted web content and pose risks such as denial of service, information disclosure, and unauthorized content processing outside sandbox restrictions. Red Hat has issued an important security update addressing these issues.
