What to do

AI-suggested

Apply the ClamAV update to version 1.5.4 or later, which includes fixes for all listed vulnerabilities and additional stability improvements. No other specific mitigations are indicated. Since this is an official security update, deploying the patch is the recommended remediation.

Description

This security update for ClamAV addresses multiple vulnerabilities including improper boundary checks, invalid frees, integer overflows and underflows, out-of-bounds reads/writes, path traversal, and thread-safety issues. These flaws affect various parsers and components such as ZIP archives, PESpin unpacker, GPT partition name conversion, PDF hex string parsing, Mach-O file scanning, XAR parser, and OneNote notebook parsing. The update also fixes thread-safety problems in the clamd STATS command and an OpenSSL library-context leak. These issues could lead to crashes, memory corruption, excessive memory allocation, or unauthorized file access.
