AI-suggested

Apply the security update provided by the SUSE Product Security Team for parted to remediate these vulnerabilities. Since this is an official security update, deploying the patch is the recommended mitigation.

Description

This security update for parted addresses two vulnerabilities: a heap-based buffer overflow triggered by a crafted FAT32 filesystem image (CVE-2026-89085) and a denial of service caused by a heap buffer overflow during FAT16 resize operations (CVE-2026-89088). Both issues could lead to memory corruption and service disruption.
