A fix is available in SQLite version 3.54.0 and later. Users and administrators should upgrade to version 3.54.0 or newer to remediate this vulnerability. No other mitigations or workarounds are indicated.
Description
SQLite versions before 3.54.0 contain a use-after-free vulnerability in the R-Tree extension. This flaw allows attackers to manipulate the %_node shadow table to cause applications to use freed heap memory. Specifically, by supplying a database that declares %_node WITHOUT ROWID or includes a RAISE(IGNORE) trigger, the nodeWrite() function hashes nodes as 0, leading to a process crash after node splits.
