Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-13359 describes a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the Contact Form to DB by BestWebSoft WordPress plugin, affecting all versions up to and including 1.7.5. The vulnerability is due to improper sanitization and escaping of the cntctfrm_contact_dropdown parameter, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts. These scripts execute in the administrator's browser context when accessing the plugin's message manager page (/wp-admin/admin.php?page=cntctfrmtdb_manager), potentially compromising administrator sessions.

Potential Impact

An unauthenticated attacker can inject malicious scripts that execute with administrator privileges when the administrator views the affected plugin's message manager page. This can lead to session compromise and unauthorized actions within the WordPress admin interface. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 7.2 (High), reflecting network attack vector, low attack complexity, no privileges or user interaction required, and impact on confidentiality and integrity.

Mitigation Recommendations

No official patch or fix is currently confirmed. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict access to the WordPress admin interface and monitor for suspicious activity. Consider disabling or removing the plugin if possible to mitigate risk.
