What to do

AI-suggested

Until a fix is available, restrict access to private access IDs and monitor API usage for suspicious activity. Implement additional access controls and validation on the granteeUserId parameter to ensure proper user filtering.

Description

CVE-2026-59708 is a vulnerability in the ghostfolio API endpoint GET /api/v1/public/:accessId/portfolio that allows unauthenticated attackers who possess a private access ID to retrieve full portfolio data without proper user filtering. This includes sensitive information such as holdings, quantities, buy prices, and performance metrics. The root cause is missing validation of the granteeUserId, which enables unauthorized access to private portfolio details.
