A patch is available that properly resets per-request credentials on reused pycurl handles. Users should upgrade Tornado to a fixed version beyond 6.5.6. No additional mitigations are required once the patch is applied.
Description
CVE-2026-91992 is a vulnerability in Tornado's CurlAsyncHTTPClient where per-request credentials such as client TLS certificates and proxy authentication details leak across requests due to handle reuse without proper reset. This causes sensitive credentials from one request to be sent to unintended hosts in subsequent requests. The issue affects all Tornado versions through 6.5.6 and is fixed in version 6.5.7. A single fix addresses the leakage of client certificates, proxy credentials, and network interface bindings.
