AI-suggested

Upgrade to @nuxt/vite-builder version 4.6.3 or later, which blocks access to the app-secret file via Vite's server.fs.deny configuration. Alternatively, set a strong NUXT_APP_SECRET environment variable of at least 32 random characters to avoid generating a development secret. Avoid exposing the dev server to untrusted networks. If a generated secret was exposed, delete the .nuxt/app-secret file or set NUXT_APP_SECRET to invalidate existing sessions.

Description

A vulnerability in @nuxt/vite-builder versions 4.6.0 through before 4.6.3 allows exposure of a generated development appSecret via the Nuxt dev server's file serving. This secret enables forging session cookies if accessed. The issue affects dev servers exposed to untrusted networks but not production builds or dev servers with explicitly configured appSecrets. It is fixed in version 4.6.3.
