Upgrade psqlODBC to version 18.00.0006 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation or workaround is indicated. Applications should avoid forwarding untrusted SQL text to the driver to reduce exposure.
Description
A vulnerability in psqlODBC before version 18.00.0006 allows a stack buffer overflow when quoting schema or table names longer than 128 bytes. This overflow can write up to two bytes past the buffer boundary, causing stack corruption. The issue arises from insufficient length checks when handling SQL text, including table names and rewritten SELECT @@IDENTITY statements. Applications forwarding untrusted SQL text to the driver may be exposed to this vulnerability.
