The nohup utility in uutils coreutils creates its default output file, nohup.out, without specifying explicit restricted permissions. This causes the file to inherit umask-based permissions, typically resulting in a world-readable file (0644). In multi-user environments, this allows any user on the system to read the captured stdout/stderr output of a command, potentially exposing sensitive information. This behavior diverges from GNU coreutils, which creates nohup.out with owner-only (0600) permissions.
CVE-2026-35341 is a vulnerability in the uutils coreutils mkfifo command where, if mkfifo fails to create a FIFO because a file already exists at the target path, it incorrectly changes the permissions of the existing file to a default mode. This can expose sensitive files, such as SSH private keys, to unauthorized users by altering their permissions. The vulnerability has a high severity with a CVSS score of 7.1.
A flaw was found in nano. In environments with permissive umask settings, a local attacker can exploit incorrect directory permissions (0777 instead of 0700) for the `~/.local` directory. This allows the attacker to inject a malicious `.desktop` launcher, which could lead to unintended actions or information disclosure if the launcher is subsequently processed.
An improper access control vulnerability in the canonical-livepatch snap client prior to version 10.15.0 allows a local unprivileged user to obtain a sensitive, root-level authentication token by sending an unauthenticated request to the livepatchd.sock Unix domain socket. This vulnerability is exploitable on systems where an administrator has already enabled the Livepatch client with a valid Ubuntu Pro subscription. This token allows an attacker to access Livepatch services using the victim's credentials, as well as potentially cause issues to the Livepatch server.
Barracuda RMM versions prior to 2025.2.2 contain a privilege escalation vulnerability that allows local attackers to gain SYSTEM-level privileges by exploiting overly permissive filesystem ACLs on the C:\Windows\Automation directory. Attackers can modify existing automation content or place attacker-controlled files in this directory, which are then executed under the NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM account during routine automation cycles, typically succeeding within the next execution cycle.
A cross-tenant isolation vulnerability was found in Grafana’s Correlations feature affecting legacy correlation records. Due to a backward compatibility condition allowing org_id = 0 records to be returned across organizations, a user with datasource management privileges could read and permanently delete legacy correlation data belonging to another organization. This issue affects correlations created prior to Grafana 10.2 and is fixed in >=11.6.11, >=12.0.9, >=12.1.6, and >=12.2.4.
Thanks to Gyu-hyeok Lee (g2h) for reporting this vulnerability.
The installer certificate files in the …/bootstrap/common/ssl folder do not seem to have restricted permissions on Windows systems (users have read and execute access). For the client.key file in particular, this could potentially lead to exploits, as this exposes agent identity material to any locally authenticated standard user.
Dell PowerProtect Agent versions prior to 20.1 contain a vulnerability due to incorrect permission assignment on a critical resource. This flaw allows a low privileged local attacker to potentially expose information. The vulnerability does not impact integrity or availability and requires local access with low privileges to exploit. The CVSS score is 3.3, indicating a low severity issue. No official patch or remediation guidance has been provided yet by Dell. There are no known exploits in the wild at this time.
CVE-2026-33271 is a local privilege escalation vulnerability in Acronis True Image for Windows versions before build 42902. It arises from insecure folder permissions (CWE-732), which could allow a local attacker with limited privileges to escalate their rights. The vulnerability has a CVSS 3.0 base score of 6.7, indicating medium severity. There is no information about an available patch or official vendor fix at this time. No known exploits in the wild have been reported. The vulnerability affects only local users and requires user interaction, with high impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability if exploited.
CVE-2026-21765 is a vulnerability in HCL BigFix Platform versions 11.0.0 through 11.0.5 where private cryptographic keys on Windows hosts have overly permissive file system permissions. This incorrect permission assignment could allow unauthorized users with local access to read or modify these critical keys. The vulnerability has a high severity with a CVSS score of 8.8, indicating a significant impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. No patch or official remediation guidance is currently provided by the vendor. There are no known exploits in the wild at this time.
Dell AppSync, version(s) 4.6.0, contain(s) an Incorrect Permission Assignment for Critical Resource vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with local access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Elevation of privileges.
The local filesystem memory tool in the Anthropic Python SDK created memory files with mode 0o666, leaving them world-readable on systems with a standard umask and world-writable in environments with a permissive umask such as many Docker base images. A local attacker on a shared host could read persisted agent state, and in containerized deployments could modify memory files to influence subsequent model behavior. Both the synchronous and asynchronous memory tool implementations were affected.
Users on the affected versions are advised to update to the latest version.

Briefcase is a tool for converting a Python project into a standalone native application. Starting in version 0.3.0 and prior to version 0.3.26, if a developer uses Briefcase to produce an Windows MSI installer for a project, and that project is installed for All Users (i.e., per-machine scope), the installation process creates an directory that inherits all the permissions of the parent directory. Depending on the location chosen by the installing user, this may allow a low privilege but authenticated user to replace or modify the binaries installed by the application. If an administrator then runs the altered binary, the binary will run with elevated privileges. The problem is caused by the template used to generate the WXS file for Windows projects. It was fixed in the templates used in Briefcase 0.3.26, 0.4.0, and 0.4.1. Re-running `briefcase create` on your Briefcase project will result in the updated templates being used. As a workaround, the patch can be added to any existing Briefcase .wxs file generated by Briefcase 0.3.24 or later.
When a certificate and its private key are installed in the Windows machine certificate store using Network and Security tool, access rights to the private key are unnecessarily granted to the operator group.

Halloy is an IRC application written in Rust. In versions on \*nix and macOS prior to commit f180e41061db393acf65bc99f5c5e7397586d9cb, halloy creates its config directory and files using default umask permissions, which typically results in `0644` on files and `0755` on directories. This allows any local user on the system to read plaintext credentials stored in `config.toml` or referenced `password_file` paths. Commit f180e41061db393acf65bc99f5c5e7397586d9cb patches the issue.
Apache Airflow versions 3.1.0 through 3.1.7 /ui/dependencies endpoint returns the full DAG dependency graph without filtering by authorized DAG IDs. This allows an authenticated user with only DAG Dependencies permission to enumerate DAGs they are not authorized to view.
Users are recommended to upgrade to Apache Airflow 3.1.8 or later, which resolves this issue.
Apache Airflow versions 3.0.0 through 3.1.7 FastAPI DagVersion listing API does not apply per-DAG authorization filtering when the request is made with dag_id set to "~" (wildcard for all DAGs). As a result, version metadata of DAGs that the requester is not authorized to access is returned.
Users are recommended to upgrade to Apache Airflow 3.1.8 or later, which resolves this issue.
Buffalo TeraStation NAS TS5400R firmware version 4.02-0.06 and prior contain an excessive file permissions vulnerability that allows authenticated attackers to read the /etc/shadow file by uploading and executing a PHP file through the webserver. Attackers can exploit world-readable permissions on /etc/shadow to retrieve hashed passwords for all configured accounts including root.
SiYuan is a personal knowledge management system. Prior to 3.6.1, POST /api/template/renderSprig lacks model.CheckAdminRole, allowing any authenticated user to execute arbitrary SQL queries against the SiYuan workspace database and exfiltrate all note content, metadata, and custom attributes. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.6.1.
