0 CVE-2026-61824 is a high-severity cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in kepano defuddle versions prior to 0.19.1. The vulnerability arises because defuddle interpolates certain page-derived values into HTML without proper context-aware escaping and bypasses the main pipeline's DOM-based sanitization. This allows attacker-controlled content to inject malicious event-handler attributes or JavaScript URLs, which execute when the extracted HTML is rendered. The issue affects specific extractor modules and is fixed in version 0.19.1. Join the discussion | CVE Database V5 | 08/21/2026, 20:12:53 UTC Added: 08/21/2026, 20:22:58 UTC |
0 Defuddle cleans up HTML pages. Prior to version 0.9.0, the _findContentBySchemaText method in src/defuddle.ts interpolates image src and alt attributes directly into an HTML string without escaping. An attacker can use a " in the alt attribute to break out of the attribute context and inject event handler. This issue has been patched in version 0.9.0.
