A moderate severity vulnerability (CVE-2024-6239) was identified in the Poppler PDF rendering library used by applications such as Evince. The issue causes a crash in the pdfinfo utility when processing broken PDF documents with the -dests parameter. Red Hat has released an update for Poppler in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 to address this vulnerability. The update is available for multiple architectures and variants of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. No known exploits in the wild have been reported. Users are advised to apply the update as detailed in the Red Hat advisory.
