A vulnerability in the idna.encode() function of the kimi-cli package allows specially crafted inputs to bypass the previous fix for CVE-2024-3651, causing excessive resource consumption and potential denial-of-service. The issue arises from insufficient early rejection of overly long inputs, leading to expensive processing. Versions prior to 3.14 do not implement the improved input length checks. The vulnerability has a medium severity with a CVSS score of 5.3. Official patches are available starting from version 3.14, which implement early input length rejection to mitigate the issue.
