A vulnerability in GitPython used by snowflake-cli allows an attacker to read arbitrary local files via the Repo.blame() or Repo.blame_incremental() methods. The issue arises because the denylist for unsafe git revision options only blocks file-write options (--output/-o) but omits file-read options (--contents/-S). This omission enables an attacker to supply a crafted revision argument that causes git blame to include contents of arbitrary files in its output. The vulnerability affects GitPython versions from 3.4.1 up to but not including 3.27.0. A fix is available to address this issue.
