0 CVE-2023-53934 is a high-severity denial of service (DoS) vulnerability in Kentico Xperience caused by improper neutralization of Server-Side Includes (SSI) within a web page. Attackers can exploit this flaw by sending specially crafted requests to the GetResource handler, which lacks proper input validation, leading to service disruption. The vulnerability requires no authentication or user interaction and can be exploited remotely over the network. Although no known exploits are currently reported in the wild, the CVSS score of 8.7 indicates a significant risk to availability. European organizations using Kentico Xperience for content management or digital experience platforms should prioritize patching or mitigating this vulnerability to maintain service continuity. Countries with high adoption of Kentico Xperience and critical digital infrastructure are at greater risk. Immediate mitigation steps include restricting access to the vulnerable handler, implementing web application firewall (WAF) rules to detect and block malicious requests, and monitoring for unusual traffic patterns targeting the GetResource endpoint.
