CVE-2024-40614: n/aCVE-2024-40614
0

CVE-2024-40614 is a medium-severity SQL injection vulnerability in EGroupware versions before 23.1.20240624. It arises from improper handling of the ORDER BY clause in the ajax_get_rows function used for sorting Address Book or InfoLog entries. Authenticated users can exploit this flaw to inject SQL code via the sort.id parameter, potentially exposing sensitive data. The vulnerability does not require user interaction but does require authentication with low privileges. There are no known exploits in the wild yet, and no official patches have been linked at the time of publication. European organizations using vulnerable EGroupware versions for collaboration and contact management are at risk. Mitigation involves promptly updating to the fixed version once available and restricting access to the affected modules.
