A successful exploit of this vulnerability may lead to Code Execution, Escalation of Privileges, Information Disclosure and Data Tampering.

CVE-2025-23265 is a high-severity vulnerability affecting NVIDIA's Megatron-LM, a large language model framework used for training and deploying AI models. The vulnerability stems from improper control over code generation within a Python component of the software, classified under CWE-94 (Improper Control of Generation of Code, commonly known as code injection). Specifically, an attacker can supply a maliciously crafted file to the vulnerable component, which then executes arbitrary code embedded within that file.
