CVE-2026-107651 is a medium severity heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in Eye of GNOME (eog) on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6. The flaw occurs in the PNG metadata reader due to improper state handling when parsing split metadata chunks. A remote attacker could exploit this by tricking a user into opening a malicious PNG file, potentially causing a denial of service via application crash or arbitrary code execution.
