0 CVE-2026-18036 is a timing side-channel vulnerability in Bouncy Castle for Java versions 1.73 up to but not including 1.86. The issue arises from the use of integer division operations on secret values during cryptographic computations in the NTRU algorithm, where the division latency depends on secret operands. This timing discrepancy can leak information about the NTRU private key to an attacker capable of precise timing measurements. The vulnerability has been addressed by replacing division operations with constant-time masking and division-free implementations in version 1.86.
