CVE-2026-18677: CWE-290 Authentication Bypass by Spoofing in Kong Inc. Kong MeshCVE-2026-18677 0 CVE-2026-18677 is an authentication bypass vulnerability in Kong Mesh versions 2.13.0 and 2.14.0. It occurs when Kong Mesh runs in universal mode with a MeshIdentity whose SPIFFE ID path template is derived from the dataplane's kuma.io/workload label. The XDS authenticator in kuma-cp only validates this label if the dataplane token is bound to a workload, but workload binding is optional. This allows a dataplane presenting a tags-bound token to register with any kuma.io/workload value and impersonate another workload's SPIFFE identity.
