It arises from missing input validation in the threat intelligence feed parser, allowing an authenticated remote user to craft a URL parameter that could lead to SSRF and reading of local files. The vulnerability affects version 2.15.0 of OpenSearch. AWS manages remediation for this cloud-hosted service and has issued a security bulletin regarding this issue.
