Ghostty versions prior to 1.3.0 contain an OS command injection vulnerability due to improper neutralization of special control characters in pasted or dropped text. This allows an attacker to execute arbitrary commands by tricking a user into pasting or dragging malicious text containing control characters like Ctrl+C. The vulnerability requires user interaction and is difficult to detect because the malicious characters are invisible in most graphical environments. This issue has been fixed in Ghostty version 1.3.0. Join the discussion | CVE Database V5 | 03/10/2026, 07:42:00 UTC Added: 03/09/2026, 21:19:17 UTC |
