CVE-2026-27145: CWE-407: Inefficient Algorithmic Complexity in Go standard library crypto/x509CVE-2026-27145 0 CVE-2026-27145 is an inefficient algorithmic complexity vulnerability in the Go standard library's crypto/x509 package. The issue arises because the VerifyHostname method repeatedly calls a function that splits the hostname string for each DNS Subject Alternative Name (SAN) entry, causing quadratic scaling of verification costs with large SAN lists. This overhead occurs even for untrusted certificates since hostname verification happens before certificate chain building. No patch or official remediation guidance is currently available. There are no known exploits in the wild. The vulnerability could lead to performance degradation during hostname verification in TLS certificate validation processes.
