It involves an improper check for unusual or exceptional conditions in the advanced forwarding toolkit (evo-aftmand) process. An unauthenticated network attacker sending continuous routing updates that generate unified list (unilist) ECMP routes can cause the evo-aftmand process on the Packet Forwarding Engine (PFE) to crash, resulting in a denial-of-service (DoS). Recovery requires manual reboot or FPC restart. A fix is available, and Juniper manages remediation for this cloud-hosted service.
