The SaveConfigFile() endpoint improperly writes user-supplied numeric configuration values directly into a configuration file (pialert.conf) without validation. This file is executed every few minutes by a background Python process, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary Python code and achieve OS-level remote code execution. By default, installations have no web protection enabled, requiring no credentials to exploit. The vulnerability has a CVSS score of 9.8 and was fixed on 2026-05-07. No official patch link or advisory is provided in the data, and no known exploits are reported in the wild.
