CVE-2026-48112: CWE-190: Integer Overflow or Wraparound in mcmilk 7-ZipCVE-2026-48112
0

CVE-2026-48112 is a medium severity vulnerability in 7-Zip versions 9. 34 through 26. 00 involving a heap out-of-bounds read in the BSD SYMDEF parser of the Unix ar archive handler. The issue occurs when the ParseLibSymbols function reads a 32-bit namesSize field at a position equal to the buffer size, causing it to read 4 bytes beyond the allocated heap buffer. This results in reading uninitialized heap data. Version 26. 01 of 7-Zip addresses this vulnerability.
