CVE-2026-49957: Improper Limitation of a Pathname to a Restricted Directory ('Path Traversal') in nesquena hermes-webuiCVE-2026-49957
0

Hermes WebUI versions before 0. 51. 269 contain a path traversal vulnerability that allows authenticated users to bypass workspace directory restrictions. This occurs due to an early return in the SSH/remote terminal workspace resolution logic, enabling attackers to set the remote terminal working directory to sensitive system directories like /etc. Consequently, the workspace path validation is circumvented, allowing read access to local system files through file-read helpers.
